As I was growing up, I had dogs as constant companions. My very first dog was a dachshund named Rusty, followed by a black lab/chow mix named General PT Beauregard, or Beau for short. Unfortunately, I lost Rusty first, and later, Beau passed away too. Without telling my husband Paul, I secretly started to look for another dachshund. I was hoping for a mini dachshund, but instead, a full-size, taller dachshund and her name was Peggy Sue, which we changed to Penelope Ann or Penny for short. My husband jokingly said she had a 6" lift kit that made her taller than usual.
While we had Penny, my brother needed to find a home for one of his three basset hounds. We took her in, and her name was Maggie Lee. She was around 2-3 years old when we welcomed her into our home. Maggie was the last dog we had after Penny passed away. Sadly, Maggie passed away this year at 15 1/2 years old this past March 2024.
I had a jewelry business before, but I was just not “happy” I thought about what I wanted to do and enjoyed doing it. Sewing was it. Then my next “love” dogs. I always put bandanas on my dogs, coats in the winter & snoods around their necks (to help keep their ears warm). Well, I surfed Pinterest to see about getting started with a pattern & what the best way was to put them together. After many trials & errors on a pattern, I finally found something with which I was pleased. Maggie was my beautiful little model, for which she was paid in biscuits for her work & dedication. I have gotten back into selling jewelry though it is not like the kind I had before, some have to do with pets, some are homemade & some are just too cute not to sell. My husband does woodburning with a pet theme. It has since expanded into other themes as well.
We are on Facebook at 4 Paws Em-Paw-Rium. All the bandanas we currently have in stock are on there, with quantity available.
