Our Story

Growing up, I had the pleasure of sharing my life with wonderful canine companions. From my very first dog, Rusty the dachshund, to General PT Beauregard, a lovable black lab/chow mix, these furry friends brought immense joy into my life. However, with their passing, a void was left in our home. Without my husband's knowledge, I embarked on a quest to find another dachshund companion, hoping for a mini version, but instead, I found a full-size, striking dachshund named Peggy Sue. Renamed Penelope Ann or Penny, she became a cherished member of our family, despite her unanticipated stature.

Our family expanded further when my brother needed a loving home for one of his basset hounds, leading Maggie Lee to join our pack. Maggie, a mature 2-3 years old, brought a different energy and companionship. After the passing of Penny and then Maggie, our home felt incomplete. I found solace and joy in creating beautiful bandanas, coats, and snoods for dogs. I utilized my sewing talents and found inspiration through my loyal model, Maggie, who was always rewarded with biscuits for her dedication.

While also returning to selling jewelry, my focus shifted to crafting pet-themed jewelry, homemade items, and supporting my husband’s woodburning art, which encompasses pet themes and beyond. You can find our delightful offerings showcased on Facebook at 4 Paws Em-Paw-Rium. Additionally, we are in the process of launching our website, 4PawsEmpawrium.com, to better connect and engage with fellow pet enthusiasts. Stay tuned for more updates and exquisite offerings! As I was growing up, I had dogs as constant companions. My very first dog was a dachshund named Rusty, followed by a black lab/chow mix named General PT Beauregard, or Beau for short. Unfortunately, I lost Rusty first, and later on, Beau passed away too. Without telling my husband Paul, I secretly started to look for another dachshund. I was hoping for a mini dachshund, but instead, I found a full-size, taller dachshund and her name was Peggy Sue, which we changed to Penelope Ann or Penny for short. My husband jokingly said that she had a little 6" lift kit that made her taller than usual.
While we had Penny, my brother needed to find a home for one of his three basset hounds. We took her in, and her name was Maggie Lee. She was around 2-3 years old when we welcomed her into our home. Maggie was the last dog we had after Penny passed away. Sadly, Maggie passed away this year at 16 1/2 years old. grew up with dogs and have had them ever since. While we had Penny, my brother needed to find a home for one of his three basset hounds. Of course, we took her in, and her name was Maggie Lee. She was around 2-3 years old when we welcomed her into our home. Maggie was the last dog we had after Penny passed away. I know, You always say that every time I lose one of my dogs. Sadly, Maggie passed away this past March 2024 at 15I grew up surrounded by the companionship of dogs, and each one holds a special place in my heart. My very first dog was a dachshund named Rusty, a lively and devoted companion. He was followed by General PT Beauregard, affectionately known as Beau, a charming black lab/chow mix. The loss of Rusty was deeply felt, and Beau's passing later left a void in our home.

In the wake of their departures, I felt compelled to seek out another dachshund companion. Secretly, I began the search, hoping for a mini dachshund. However, fate had other plans, and I stumbled upon Peggy Sue, a full-size dachshund. We lovingly named her Penelope Ann, or Penny, for short. Her unexpected larger size brought a unique charm, and my husband humorously remarked that she seemed to have a "6" lift kit" making her taller than the average dachshund.

Our family's love for canines continued to grow, as we welcomed Maggie Lee, a beloved basset hound, into our home. Maggie, already 2-3 years old, brought a mature and endearing presence into our lives. Her companionship and loyalty endeared her to us, and she became an integral part of our family. After Penny's passing, Maggie remained our constant furry friend.

In my pursuit of joy and fulfillment, I turned to sewing. Inspired by my love for dogs, I began crafting bandanas, coats, and snoods for these wonderful animals. Each creation was a labor of love, refined through numerous trials and errors. My muse and model, Maggie, was generously rewarded with biscuits for her unwavering dedication during these ventures.

Alongside these creative pursuits, I also resurrected my passion for selling jewelry. This time, I focused on crafting pet-themed jewelry and homemade items, complemented by my husband's woodburning art, which embraced pet themes and a wide array of other inspirations. Together, we launched 4 Paws Em-Paw-Rium, where our delightful offerings, including unique pet-themed jewelry and more, are showcased. As we continue to expand, we are diligently working on the forthcoming launch of our website, 4PawsEmpawrium.com, to better connect with fellow pet enthusiasts and provide a seamless shopping experience. Stay tuned for more updates and the introduction of our exquisite offerings!.
